OverviewThe Infrastructure Division is responsible for planning and provision of facilities (land, buildings and equipment), including land planning, student enrolment forecasting and facilities planning, strategic asset management, capital works programs, maintenance and minor works programs and provision of facilities related services. The Infrastructure Operations Directorate provides services to schools on the development and management of lease, shared use and community use arrangements, property management, security and emergency management, environmental services and contract management of the WA Schools Public Private Partnership (PPP) contract.
The RoleThe Property and Leasing Officer coordinates the establishment, extension, renewal, variation, management and surrender of property leases and licences held by the Department, ensuring compliance with conditions. They contribute to the management of the Department's large and varied leased property portfolio and surplus to requirements properties, including site inspections and negotiating lease arrangements.
If successful, you will provide advice on all aspects of the lease and licence management cycle including liaison with schools and external parties on new and existing leases, the operation of leases and management strategies. You will also review invoices for payment, conduct site visits and consider risk and compliance in a lease setting. Within this role you will also undertake property management tasks and research that contributes to the development of parliamentary and ministerial responses.

- Demonstrated experience in property lease and licence management and providing specialist and technical advice to lessees, licence holders and landlords.
- Demonstrated experience in property or facilities management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with competing demands and achieve priorities within timelines.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including consultation and negotiation and client service.
- Demonstrated written communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills to provide innovative solutions to complex problems.
