Part Time and Casual Patient Services Assistants

Your role at St John of God Bunbury Hospital

We are currently seeking Patient Services Assistants to join our Environmental Services Team.

In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care by providing essential support services to clinical staff. Your contribution will be integral to fostering a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

Various Casual or Permanent Part-time positions are available.

• Under supervision, responsible for assisting with transporting of patients and equipment.
• Responsible for distributing meals, collecting patient trays, cleaning kitchen and fridge, distributing menus.
• Responsible for safely segregating, collecting, handling, storing, transporting, treating, and disposing of various waste streams, including infectious, pathological, chemical, and pharmaceutical waste.
• Strip sanitising beds and remake after discharge of patients. Cleaning, tidying, and sanitising of ward area.
• Delivering and maintaining high standards of cleanliness across all hospital areas, including wards and operating theatres.
• Compliance with HACCP, Workplace, Health and Safety and Infection Control.
• Performing a variety of cleaning tasks, including decontamination of beds, wards, and equipment (desirable).
• Checking inventory of oxygen and suction equipment, replacing as necessary after discharge, and checking oxygen cylinders.
• Maintaining stock levels in cleaners' room and trolley and reporting on faulty equipment.
• Ensuring equipment used during your shift is cleaned, restocked, and stored correctly.
• Supporting a collaborative and respectful workplace culture.
• Communicating effectively with nursing staff and other stakeholders to help achieve positive clinical outcomes.

You will effectively prioritise work with minimal supervision and the ability to work as part of a team in an environment of change.

In addition, you will have well developed communication and people skills and the ability to interact respectfully with patients in a confident and positive manner.

• Salary: $61,043.98 to $63,223.15, plus 12% superannuation.
• Casual Hourly Rate: $38.49 to $39.86 (includes 25% loading), plus 12% superannuation.
• Casual and Part Time positions available.
