Overview

We are looking for a Commercial Officer to join the Commercial team within our Aerospace line of business. Your contribution will help ensure the best commercial outcomes for the Customer and the business while supporting the Australian Defence Forces. This opportunity is available at our Williamtown NSW office and open to hybrid work, flexibility and a 9 day fortnight.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Review, draft, negotiate and finalise contracts and commercial agreements and support with complex contracts
  • Manage commercial contracts and the commercial elements of the Life Cycle Management and Request for Bid Approval process within own possession
  • Be responsive to customer needs by understanding their requirements through researched understanding, open discussion and clarifying questions; influence where required
  • Support Procurement and Supply Chain colleagues in the preparation of sub-contract terms and conditions as required
  • Work with the internal legal team and external legal advisors to ensure contracts have the necessary legal input/governance
  • Contribute to the preparation and presentation of major Life Cycle Management reviews and Request for Bid Approval, obtaining necessary approvals within governance
  • Support the Commercial Manager and other team members
  • Understand the financial and pricing requirements of commercial contracts
  • Provide advice on commercial policy to managers and non-commercial staff, demonstrating the value of these processes
  • Draft moderately complex contracts/agreements with minimal supervision
About You
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Flexible with a lean in approach
  • Team oriented with high level written and oral communication skills, able to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • A curious mindset and strong initiative
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders
  • Computer literacy with intermediate MS Suite; familiarity with SharePoint and Oracle is desirable
  • Eligibility to hold and maintain Defence security clearance
  • Note: ITAR considerations may affect suitability; nationality may be a factor
