What You'll Do

Americold is seeking a dynamic and experienced Transport Director - APAC. As the Transport Director, you will lead our transport portfolio, ensuring the delivery of fit-for-purpose, commercially astute transport solutions across Australia and New Zealand. This role involves balancing in-house assets and outsourced services to meet customer needs and drive profitability.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading strategic and operational transport initiatives across the APAC region.
  • Managing Americold-owned fleet and assets.
  • Ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and NHVR standards.
  • Building strong relationships with carrier partners and ensuring audit readiness.
  • Optimising Transport Management Systems (TMS) for visibility and efficiency.
  • Collaborating with Commercial Finance and Business Development on pricing and tenders.
  • Managing P&L, budgeting, and reporting for transport operations.
  • Identifying and implementing transport synergies and growth opportunities.
  • Championing safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across all transport activities.
  • Leading and developing a high-performing team, fostering talent and succession planning.

What Experience and Education You Need

  • 6-10 years' experience in transport operations across Australia and/or New Zealand.
  • Proven leadership in managing teams and cross-functional collaborations.
  • Strong customer relationship and vendor management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Transport, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications in CoR, NHVR compliance, or relevant transport safety standards.
  • Proficiency in TMS and logistics software.
  • Knowledge of cold chain logistics and food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP).
