Overview

St Columban's Primary School Mayfield is seeking a Temporary Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Primary Teacher to join the team in 2026 for 12 months. The school values academic excellence and spiritual growth, with a focus on differentiated learning, quality assessment practices, and inclusive education strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Invite students and their families into a faith-filled educational experience and support Catholic ethos within the school community.
  • Promote the school as a place of learning and excellence where creativity and curiosity are nurtured, with students connected to their world through deep learning and engagement.
  • Differentiate learning for students according to their educational needs and abilities; create effective assessment practices and quality teaching programs.
  • Promote contemporary evidence-based learning and wellbeing principles (including digital learning) and develop pedagogical practices that improve student learning outcomes.
  • Work within the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
Experience / Criteria
  • Clear understanding of and commitment to Catholic Education and support of the Catholic ethos and culture of the school; for Primary or Religion teaching positions, the candidate must be Catholic.
  • Ability to plan and prepare contemporary and compliant teaching programs and assessments addressing diverse student needs and learning styles.
  • Demonstrated ability to use assessment and school data to optimize educational outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with school staff and the wider community to establish productive partnerships.
  • Innovative and agile mindset supporting continuous improvement within the school.
Qualifications
  • Four-year trained teacher qualifications
  • Active NESA Accreditation
  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Completion of anaphylaxis and CPR training
Conditions of Employment
  • Salary in accordance with the NSW & ACT Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
