This strategic position involves designing, implementing, and optimising both cloud and on-premises infrastructure solutions to support a dynamic and evolving IT ecosystem. You\'ll be responsible for ensuring stability, scalability, and security across hybrid environments, while integrating cutting-edge technologies that drive innovation and operational excellence.
This role sits at the intersection of higher education and advanced computing, engaging with platforms such as high-performance computing (HPC) and research computing environments including the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC). We\'re looking for a forward-thinking architect who can translate complex requirements into robust solutions, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the University\'s mission of delivering world-class research and education through technology.
About You- Design and implement cloud-based architectures using Microsoft Azure, M365 and AWS.
- Assist in developing cloud strategies aligning with enterprise IT goals, security frameworks, and compliance requirements.
- Establish best practices for cloud operation, hybrid environments, and multi-cloud strategies.
- Be a key role in implementing cloud operating models to streamline cloud service management.
- Assist Cloud Platforms Manager to optimise cloud cost management and governance models.
- Lead the design and optimisation of data centre infrastructure, including compute, storage, and network components.
- Architect and manage hyperconverged infrastructure solutions using Nutanix and VMware vSAN.
- Implement DevOps best practices for CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- A relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and extensive relevant experience
- Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, ITIL.
