About the role:

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for the position of External Communications Specialist to join our team in Melbourne. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of how Orica connects with the world, shaping our voice, building our brand, and sharing the stories that matter most.

What you will be doing
  • Strategic Communications
    • Support the design and delivery of external communication strategies that enhance and protect Orica's reputation.
    • Develop and steward clear, consistent messaging across digital and traditional channels.
    • Ensure all external communications align with Orica's brand voice and identity.
    • Support media, issues and crisis management and associated logistics.
    • Content Development & Campaign Management
      • Lead global social media strategy and execution.
      • Write, edit, and publish communications tailored to external stakeholders.
      • Create engaging visual and video content to support campaigns and storytelling.
      • Manage and report on content across Orica's external platforms to maximise engagement.
      • Stakeholder & Reputation Engagement
        • Collaborate with leaders and partners to communicate organisational priorities, performance, milestones, and thought leadership.
        • Build strong global relationships to ensure communications are effective and well-aligned.
        • Support initiatives that reinforce and protect Orica's brand and reputation.
      What you will bring
      • Experience in external communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field, in a multinational or large ASX listed organisation.
      • A proven track record in developing and executing external communications.
      • Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills (design and video experience valued).
      • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
      • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management capabilities at all levels.
