Overview

HRG Studios is responsible for some of the most globally successful products in the gaming industry. We are looking for a highly motivated and creative individual who can produce elite animation content which is on-brief and on-time; work collaboratively within a team environment and under direction to achieve outcomes and to support the delivery of games at the highest quality.

What You'll Do
  • Work collaboratively with artists, animators and game designers to build and produce outstanding game animation, that is on brief and on time; attention to detail is paramount.
  • 2D and 3D animation is required, with an emphasis on character animation as well as rigging for models to be animated.
  • Be a subject matter authority in animation production for interactive entertainment.
  • Deliver accurate assets on time to a level of functional and aesthetic quality appropriate to the game requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risk, as well as quickly and accurately resolve unexpected issues that can occur during the development process.
  • Maintain excellent file organization and follow established processes for asset creation and management, output configuration, IP and reference material etc.
  • Experience with Spine is a must.
  • Ability to build 3D models is highly regarded.
  • Keep up to date on the latest developments within the gaming industry.
What We're Looking For

Tertiary qualifications in Animation or related is desirable, an up-to date showreel is crucial. 2+ years development experience in a professional creative production environment. Tertiary qualifications may not be required if significant professional work experience can be exhibited.

Skills And Ability
  • Proven experience with core application software such as 3D Studio Max, Maya, VRay, ZBrush, Adobe CC Suite, Blender, Spine etc.
  • Experience with Substance Painter is highly regarded.
  • Strong PC/Mac skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Communication Skills
  • Able to communicate effectively both in written and verbal forms.
  • Able to communicate efficiently with Game Design, Art & Software, from the time of design, through implementation, iterations, right through to the final product.
  • Confident to share new insights and comfortable influencing key collaborators. General
  • Excellent understanding of animation production techniques and pipelines. (real-time & pre-rendered)
  • High level of competency in creating and delivering content using key software to a range of end-platforms, i.e., custom proprietary platforms, web and mobile devices.
  • Display initiative to drive projects and present new ideas.
  • High attention to detail and good analytical skills.
  • Proven organizational skills, including the ability to effectively communicate sophisticated technical concepts to a range of functional teams within the organization.
  • Ability to handle challenging priorities to meet tight deadlines.
  • Actively seek feedback and review of work; accept and act upon creative/technical direction.
  • Ability to work within a team as well as unsupervised.
  • Able to provide a positive, motivating example for peers.
  • Identifying, presenting, and adopting industry standard methodologies and championing their use within our development environment.
  • Be an advocate for creative and technical excellence.
