Overview

In this contract role, you will provide leadership, strategic advice, and technical expertise to support the planning and delivery of infrastructure, asset management, and maintenance programs across Queensland schools, staff housing, and early childhood education centers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of policies, strategies, and methodologies to support effective asset management and maintenance planning.
  • Provide high-level advice to executives, senior management, regional directors, and principals on a broad range of infrastructure, planning, and asset management issues.
  • Oversee the allocation of maintenance funding, including developing business rules and performance indicators for service delivery partners.
  • Undertake and guide data analysis from the Asset Life Cycle Assessment process to inform long-term investment planning.
  • Prepare ministerial correspondence, briefing notes, and reports on infrastructure, planning, and asset management issues.
  • Lead and mentor a small team, fostering collaboration, capability development, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strategic networks and stakeholder relationships to ensure consistency, best practice, and effective service delivery.
The Successful Candidate
  • Proven expertise in infrastructure planning, asset management, or a related field, with strong knowledge of contemporary asset management practices.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate programs, interpret complex data, and deliver evidence-based strategies.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience preparing high-level reports, correspondence, and briefing materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and foster collaboration across diverse groups.
  • Experience in policy development and program evaluation, with a focus on continuous improvement and long-term planning.
  • A commitment to delivering quality infrastructure outcomes that support the learning environment for Queensland's schools and early childhood communities.
