About Mercy Health

Mercy Mental Health - Emergency Mental Health Service (EMHS), located at Mercy Hospital Werribee, is a dynamic multidisciplinary team that provides initial contact, triage telephone support/assessment and referral to appropriate mental health support services for residents of the cities of Wyndham/Hobsons Bay and Maribyrnong. EMHS also provides the above services via the Emergency Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (ECATT) for consumers presenting to the Emergency Department of Werribee Mercy Hospital and, in partnership with Victoria Police, provides a Police and Clinical Emergency Response (PACER).

Responsibilities
  • The Emergency Mental Health (EMH) Senior Clinician provides intensive clinical assessment, treatment and support services to clients in acute psychiatric crisis who present to Werribee Mercy Hospital ED, contact the MMH Triage service or WPACER.
  • Form an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, providing highly responsive and flexible service to consumers and carers while upholding a high level of professionalism.
  • Provide specialist clinical services, referral and advice to support clients and the broader community via a comprehensive psychiatric assessment process. Support the EMH Manager and provide leadership and guidance for junior staff within EMH.
