About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Head of Procurement - LOTE, the Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the team supporting the development, delivery, and implementation of Life of Type Extension (LOTE) Procurement within a Defence Acquisition environment.

The role involves establishing, implementing, and managing procurement and supply chain strategies, negotiating and managing strategic contracts related to the COLLINS Class LOTE Program, and building strong internal and external relationships to meet program requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage procurement strategies and plans, including project, category, and sourcing strategies that deliver value for money and manage risks.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with Australian law and best practices, conducted ethically, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Negotiate and oversee strategic contracts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Develop supplier relationships beneficial to the Submarine Program and industry.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop Supply Chain personnel.

About You:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a Supply Chain role within a related industry.
  • Experience with major defence contracts in a contractual and commercial capacity.
  • Proven experience in managing major project contracts, including negotiations and legal aspects.
  • Strong project management skills to deliver procurement projects on time and within budget.
  • Expert knowledge of procurement law, including insurance, legal processes, intellectual property, and warranties.
  • Proficiency with procurement tools such as e-tendering and contract management systems.
  • Ability to support senior management in procurement strategy development and monitoring.
  • Effective leadership skills to manage senior personnel both internally and externally.
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, law, supply chain, or related fields are desirable.

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level, which must be maintained throughout employment.
