CS Energy is seeking an experienced Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to lead our commercial strategy and deliver long-term value in the dynamic energy landscape. CS Energy generates and sells electricity to commercial and industrial customers with a portfolio of traditional and renewable power generation assets located across Queensland.

As CCO, you'll be responsible for optimising CS Energy's commercial performance across retail markets, energy trading into the National Electricity Market, key resource supply, and all JV and strategic partnerships. You will lead the growth of CS Energy's retail business, guide trading and analytics to inform strategy, manage key commercial agreements, and strengthen partnerships and joint ventures that drive growth and efficiency.

Reporting to the CEO and as part of the Executive Leadership Team, the CCO will lead a high-performing commercial division that turn's strategy into action - maximising market opportunities, customer value, and investment returns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive commercial strategy to expand retail operations across Queensland and the National Electricity Market.
• Implement an effective electricity trading strategy that maximises the value of our portfolio of generation assets.
• Use trading insights and data analytics to drive smarter decisions and enhance financial and operational performance.
• Lead major commercial negotiations, investments, and partnership opportunities.
• Oversee governance and performance of key joint ventures ensuring alignment with CS Energy's strategic objectives.
• Maintain compliance across trading, risk, and regulatory frameworks.
• Promote a commercially focused, customer-first culture.

About You

You are a commercial executive with a strong track record in strategic commercial leadership in energy, utilities, or complex asset-intensive industries. You bring knowledge of energy markets, trading mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks, alongside a sophisticated understanding of how to identify and pursue commercial opportunities.

Your strengths lie in your commercial foresight, negotiation capability, and ability to deliver sustained performance across multiple streams. You will likely have a background in contract law and/or financial analysis. You are also a values led leader who can build strong, multidisciplinary teams that collaborate and innovate.

You will be comfortable navigating ambiguity, leading complex negotiations, and engaging with regulators, government agencies, joint venture partners, and customers at the highest levels.

Your approach will data-driven, customer-focused, and outcomes-oriented.

Tertiary qualifications in law, commerce, economics, engineering, or a related field are essential. Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA and governance credentials (GAICD or equivalent) are highly desirable.
