We're a growing Melbourne CBD-based public accounting firm looking for a high-performing Senior Accountant to take ownership of complex jobs, deliver quality outcomes, and mentor the next generation of accountants. About the Role:

As a Senior Accountant in our firm, you'll be the go-to person for delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services on some of our most complex and challenging jobs. You'll take full ownership of client assignments from initial planning through to final delivery, mentor junior staff, and consistently deliver accurate, client-ready work with minimal revisions.

This role is ideal for someone ready to handle significant responsibility and meet performance KPIs.

Responsibilities:

Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals with complex structures.

Take full ownership of engagements from planning through to completion.

Identify and advise on advanced tax matters such as Division 7A, CGT (including small business concessions), trust streaming, and loss utilisation.

Provide practical tax planning strategies for SMEs and investment groups.

Liaise directly with clients, the ATO, and other regulators.

Review and provide constructive feedback on junior/intermediate accountants' work.

Consistently achieve agreed billable hours, productivity, and recovery KPIs.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation, rulings, and compliance requirements.

Requirements:

CA or CPA qualified.

Minimum 5 years' experience in Australian public practice accounting.

Strong technical expertise in Australian taxation across multiple entity types and industries.

Demonstrated ability to produce client-ready work with minimal revisions.

Excellent communication skills with a client-focused approach.

Proven track record of meeting performance and billing KPIs.

Motivated to progress toward a supervisory or managerial role.
