The People, Finance and Operations Division is responsible for delivering a range of business and enabling services that support the AFSA's purpose, through partnering with business divisions that regulate Australia's personal insolvency and personal property securities programs. The division provides professional services and leadership that promotes the efficient and effective operations of the agency, whilst ensuring compliance with commonwealth legislation, polices and guidelines and promoting integrity, accountability and transparency.
The Procurement Advisor works within the Procurement & Contract Management team and is responsible for carrying out day to day procurement activities, delivering high quality operational support to the Senior Advisor Procurement, ensuring AFSA's compliance in accordance with legislative requirements and established frameworks and AFSA's strategic visions and objectives.
The Procurement Advisor supports the team in the delivery of accurate and timely advice on procurement and contract related matters, by ensuring records are accurately maintained, coordinating activities, database management and drafting of contracts.
Key accountabilitiesThe Procurement Advisor will:
- Support the provision of quality, consistent and timely procurement and contracting advice in line with AFSA's frameworks and relevant legislation and policies.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable Commonwealth procurement legislation and underlying policy and procedures to ensure accuracy of advice.
- Maintain procurement management and reporting tools (group mailbox, registers, matrixes) including AFSA's Finance Management Information System (FMIS) and ensuring accuracy of data, including registration of procurement contracts, variations and amendments.
- In consultation with the Senior Procurement Advisor's, Assistant Director and Director:
- Draft simple contracts, and as required, support the drafting of more complex contracts, and
- Under direction, prepare procurement documentation such as approach to market documentation and evaluation reports.
- Collect and collate data from AFSA reporting tools to inform assurance activities and reporting obligations.
- Contribute to team projects such as continuous improvement initiatives as well as other work activities, as directed.
- Manage and maintain stakeholder relationships with business areas and colleagues.
Certificate IV in Procurement and Contract Management or progress towards qualification is desirable.
All duties will be performed in accordance with:

- AFSA's risk management framework and relevant legislation, including guiding others to identify and mitigate foreseeable risks.
