We are seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Manager to join our Melbourne team.
Responsibilities- Oversee the implementation of MEL plans for Movember initiatives as a member of the MEL team and cross-functional initiative teams.
- Partner with each Impact Initiative lead to understand MEL needs and design a fit-for-purpose MEL approach.
- For each initiative, develop a POP (Program on a Page / program logic) to describe and/or design each Impact Initiative; commission and manage external consultants when required.
- Oversee data collection and analysis and maintain quality control for MEL data. Ensure data is used appropriately and aligned with indicators in the MEL Plans.
- Be responsible for submission of HREC submissions, ethical monitoring and reporting.
- Oversee the quality of key MEL deliverables from external consultants (MEL Plan, POP, Interim and Final Evaluation Reports, Learning presentations).
- Design, develop and implement a MEL Strategy that meets the MEL needs of a Movember Impact Portfolio.
- Develop a Theory of Change for an Impact Portfolio and ensure MEL strategy alignment with Movember09s Impact Strategy, MEL Team Approach, and the Theory of Change.
- Work with the MEL team to ensure indicators and measures of portfolio success are consistent where possible across portfolios and contribute to organisational performance reporting requirements.
- Ensure the MEL Strategy is communicated effectively across the portfolio with relevant stakeholders and is implemented for the Impact Portfolio with milestones set with the Global Director, MEL and senior leadership.
- Facilitate sharing and translation of organisational learnings from MEL activities, including development of knowledge-sharing assets and iterative learning within Initiative teams.
- Contribute evidence from MEL activities to Movember Institute and promote uptake of evidence across relevant teams; promote knowledge translation to the men's health sector in alignment with Movember Institute policies.
- Contribute to continual improvement of MEL policies, processes, frameworks and tools; attend MEL team meetings and advocate for the use of policies and tools.
- Relevant qualifications in public/population health, psychology, medical research and/or evaluation, implementation science or a related health discipline.
- Skilled in designing and delivering research and/or evaluation projects related to health problems.
- End-to-end project management experience in MEL (approximately 10 years).
- Ability to support internal teams from non-research or evaluation areas to understand and value MEL work.
- Experience developing Theory of Change / program logics.
- Proficiency with a range of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- Ability to communicate research/evaluation/monitoring results to diverse audiences using various mediums and channels.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working with health professionals or within health settings.
- Experience commissioning and working with external consultants.
- Experience in oncology/cancer (particularly prostate cancer) and/or mental health is highly regarded.
- Experience developing outcome frameworks and indicators & measures.
- Understanding of PROMs data and oncology registries.
- Journal publications and/or conference presentation experience.
- Experience working in a global context.
