Are you looking to make a difference in the lives of others? Can you spare just an hour a fortnight? We're seeking volunteers for our Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme where we place volunteers with seniors who are lonely and wanting companionship.

As a volunteer you will support seniors in an Aged Care facility or their own home to help improve their quality of life. You will be able to build new connections and positive relationships with someone who will greatly appreciate your company. The time will be spent having a coffee, going on outings, reading together, listening to music, playing games etc.

Nothing is greater than the heart's motivation to touch the lives of those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Research has consistently shown that people who give up their time to help others are generally happier and volunteering can have an incredible impact on your mental health and wellbeing. A 2016 study by Volunteering Australia found that 93% of volunteers reported an increase in happiness, while 79% reported an improvement in their mental health.

Many seniors in our community are living in social isolation, which can lead to loneliness and depression. By volunteering your time and visiting with them, you will brighten their day and provide much needed companionship.

Affectionately referred to as our 'friendship program' we match volunteers with seniors who share similar interests, so you can connect over a shared love of books, movies or hobbies. You'll have the opportunity to hear fascinating stories and gain insight from people who have a wealth of life experience.

What We Offer You

• Training and regular check-ins.
• Flexibility to volunteer on a day and at a time that suits you.
  
  

What we require from our volunteers:

• A minimum of one hour per fortnight commitment.
• A desire to spend time with seniors in your community.
• A warm and friendly communication style and reliable.
• A willingness to have a Criminal History Check (paid for by us).
