Department Overview

Our Services team is part of Motorola Solutions, covering Australia and New Zealand. We deliver systems integration projects and managed services to our customers, providing customer-focused, end-to-end solutions including voice (radio), data, and video technologies, mainly for the public safety and energy sectors.

Job Description

As a Radio Configuration Specialist, you will provide technical and operational support for P25 subscriber radio configuration, including creating and updating configurations via CPS, RM, or RC. You will participate in customer meetings to derive operational requirements, perform verification testing, and update test plans as needed. Technologies may also include TETRA and DMR.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting customer technical requirements with a team of radio configuration specialists.
  2. Developing and managing codeplugs, updating documentation.
  3. Reviewing and summarizing new software and firmware releases for customers.
  4. Conducting regression testing for firmware updates.
  5. Providing technical support to stakeholders.
  6. Engaging in stakeholder meetings to discuss configuration impacts.
  7. Managing a standardized process for codeplug development and testing.
  8. Handling customer issues related to subscriber radio configuration.
  9. Managing deployment of codeplug updates post-approval.
  10. Maintaining software tools and servers to support the latest versions.
  11. Following operational procedures and logging all contacts accurately.
  12. Performing other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements

Education and Qualifications

  • Essential: Tertiary qualifications in Electronics, Computer Systems Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Highly desirable: Experience with Land Mobile Radio systems, especially Motorola ASTRO P25.

Additional skills include interfacing with clients and vendors, software/firmware testing, codeplug management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Desirable skills include in-depth knowledge of Motorola radio systems and experience in operations environments.
