Secondary Designer

We are seeking a skilled Secondary Designer to join our team. As a key member, you will play a crucial role in preparing panel layouts, schematic designs, switchroom/terminal station layouts, cable/wiring schedules and related documentation for HV and EHV terminal stations and substations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake design drafting of substations, overhead and underground sub transmission and distribution to a high technical standard
  • Review and assess brownfield and greenfield sites
  • Manage outcomes within project programme constraints whilst maintaining high levels of technical performance
  • Effectively manage the detail design from concept through to final design implementation to agreed scope, quality, time frames
  • Identify and manage scope variations according to client and/or project requirements
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience with demonstrated experience on electrical utility projects
  • Technical qualification such as a Diploma of Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Relevant work rights to live and work full-time in Australia
  • Current full Victorian Driver's License
  • Demonstrated experience within the Electrical Transmissions/Distribution industry
  • Understanding of Electricity Distribution systems and process requirements related to design work
  • Experience and knowledge in overhead and underground line design of sub transmission and distribution systems
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to manage stakeholders at all levels
