About The Role

Royal Prince Alfred is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and offers speciality services from its main campus as well as from Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, Chris O'Brien Lifehouse and Dame Edith Walker Hospitals. Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is one of Australia\'s leading hospitals, providing an extensive range of diagnostic and treatment services. Its specialities include cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, cancer, respiratory medicine, neurology, liver and kidney transplants.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Ambulatory Care Business Unit as a part of the administrative team within the Palliative Care Department – at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. We are looking for a motivated individual with a passion for customer service to support our department in delivering integrated, supportive, person centred care to our patients.

Palliative Care offers sensitive and compassionate medical and supportive care for patients with a life limiting illness, their families and carers. The Palliative Care team are drawn from a variety of health disciplines including medical specialists, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology, and volunteers.

Whilst the position is within the Palliative Care Department, the role sits within the Ambulatory Care Business Unit, which manages the centralised workforce structure for all Ambulatory Care administrative staff across RPAH.

Ideal Candidate
  • Ability to work to support a Head of Department, independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Previous experience in an administrative setting with established high level computer literacy and typing skills, including experience with dictaphone transcribing equipment or software, with a minimum typing speed of 60wpm.
  • Knowledge of Medicare billing.
