Bundanon is seeking a Head of Live Programs & Audience Engagement to lead the strategic and operational delivery of our live programs, audience engagement initiatives, and visitor services. Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive role oversees a team of nine staff plus a casual team, with four direct reports, and manages a diverse portfolio including live events and public programs, audience development & visitation initiatives, ticketing, retail, membership, tours, and commercial events. Key Details Full-time position Standard working days: Monday to Friday Salary Offer - $172,480 package per annum (i.e. $154,000 base plus 12% Super) Reports to: Chief Executive Officer Direct Reports: 4 About Bundanon Bundanon is an art museum embedded in a 1,000 hectare landscape, in the Shoalhaven region of NSW. The organisation's mission is to operate the Bundanon properties as a centre for creative arts and education, to support the development of arts practice across all disciplines and to enable public access to the arts and to the landscape. Bundanon's vision is to promote creativity and learning based in a unique cultural and natural landscape. About The Role The Head of Live Programs & Audience Engagement is a key member of Bundanon's Executive Team, reporting directly to the CEO and leading the strategic and operational direction of Bundanon's engagement & visitation initiatives. Overseeing the Live Programs & Audience Engagement team, the role is responsible for designing, developing, planning and delivering dynamic live programs across the art forms and community-driven initiatives that connect audiences to Bundanon's vision. What You Will Do Live Events/Public Programs Plan, develop and deliver public and live events across the artforms, ensuring seamless execution from concept to completion. Collaborate with internal teams to design, develop and execute seasonal opening weekends, talks and programs that enrich and expand the annual exhibition seasons. Lead the delivery of large-scale events, including concerts and festivals, working with teams and partners to create meaningful connections with Bundanon's audiences and showcase its artistic vision. Audience Development and Community Engagement Collaborate with leadership and key staff to deliver Bundanon's indigenous engagement commitments, ensuring the representation and voice of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.Collaborate with teams to analyse audience profiles and design programs that strategically target and engage key audience groups.Develop, plan, and oversee free, low-fee and commercial audience engagement initiatives, including Bundanon Stay Weekends.Create and deliver community engagement programs in collaboration with local South Coast communities, regional and state tourism bodies.Oversee the management of Bundanon's Volunteer Program. Visitor Experience Oversee Visitor Service operations to ensure an excellent visitor experience in a safe and welcoming environment, including ticketing, retail, membership programs, and tours.Strategise the visitor journey focusing on planning, data analysis, evaluation and relationship management. Support the Visitor Services team in delivering knowledgeable and engaging communication about Bundanon's programs and facilities. Maintain high standards in the quality and delivery of commercial and external venue hire programs, including weddings, conferences, literary & artist events. Strategy Execution Form a part of the Executive Team to contribute and execute on strategic initiatives.Contribute to the development of the Corporate pPlan and strategies to drive visitation and engagement at Bundanon. Drive review processes to set priorities, monitor progress, remove obstacles and ensure the sustainability of planned work. Stay informed of trends, legislative, regulatory and other factors likely to impact the sector.Shape strategies to position Bundanon as a leading cultural and tourism destination on the NSW South Coast, enhancing its profile regionally, nationally, and internationally.Represent Bundanon at professional forums nationally to strengthen its profile, build strategic partnerships, and enhance its cultural influence. SELECTION CRITERIA Minimum 8-10 years managing major live cultural events and public programsProven ability to design and deliver diverse live programs and public events that increase visitation, sales, and audience engagement.Strong leadership skills with experience managing budgets, stakeholders, teams, and multiple concurrent projects.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including program proposals, contracts, funding applications, and stakeholder negotiations.Experience building high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex programs and events.Knowledge of WHS and workplace diversity principles, with commitment to the arts, cultural, and GLAM sectors.
