Public Sector People currently seeking an experienced Payroll Officer on a 3-month contract to join a council in Sydney.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Australian payroll processing, who is confident using SAP SuccessFactors and ideally has experience with Kronos UKG.

3-month contract

$46-54ph + super

ASAP Start

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end payroll for employees in compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and payroll data within SuccessFactors.
  • Handle payroll enquiries and provide timely, professional resolution of discrepancies.
  • Conduct payroll reconciliations and assist with reporting for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with PAYG, superannuation, leave accruals, and Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with internal HR and Finance teams to support smooth payroll operations.

Skills & Experience Required:
  • 2-3 years proven experience processing Australian payroll within a medium to large organisation.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors is essential.
  • Kronos experience is highly desirable (or similar time and attendance systems).
  • Solid understanding of Australian payroll legislation, tax, and superannuation obligations.
