Overview

  • Hours per week: 36
  • Location: Akron Campus Operating Room
Education and Certification
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
  • BCLS Certification
  • Knowledge of surgical principles and skills
  • Current National Certified Surgical Technologist certification OR certification as Certified Surgical Technologist preferred
Experience and Training
  • Recent (or previous) operating room experience preferred

  • Ability to operate sterilizers, adjust operating tables and accessory devices, and handle instruments
  • Ability to work well within a team environment: by accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback; by supporting team goals and encouraging other team members; and by collaborating with patient care team members to consolidate work, solve problems, create new methods, and/or reduce costs
  • Ability to understand and carry out the vision of patient care at Summa: to create a patient care environment which is focused on the needs and expectations of the patient, our customer

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients, cleaning equipment, and materials
  • Ability to coordinate communication information for personnel, physicians, and patients
  • Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy

Compensation

$26.18/hr - $31.41/hr

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.
