Join the Cabinet and Parliament Services (CAPS) team as a Manager, where you'll lead a team on Cabinet and parliamentary matters and provide high-level support to senior management, including the Director-General and Minister. The role involves engaging with internal and external stakeholders across levels to drive critical initiatives.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead the preparation of Cabinet and Parliament Services (CAPS) materials and manage the flow of information between the Minister and the department on Cabinet and Parliament matters, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Deliver the functions of CAPS through expert advice and support on CAPS procedures to ensure services are delivered on time, at high quality, and within the scope desired by senior stakeholders. This includes providing or coordinating training and support to the department on proper procedure and quality of ministerial and executive documentation.
  • Manage, develop and coach team members, ensuring capacity and capability to deliver expert advice and services across the Department, and create a work environment that encourages staff to seek challenges, develop skills and achieve results.
  • Develop and sustain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate and seek improvements on the coordination and implementation of CAPS processes.
  • Foster an effective and efficient client-focused workflow by forward planning and prioritising the department\'s Cabinet and legislative programs.
  • Coordinate the preparation of correspondence and other material for the Director General and Minister to meet requirements for Cabinet and legislation programs, including reports for the executive leadership team\'s management of Cabinet decision implementation.
  • Review and critically evaluate submissions, briefing notes, memoranda, legislative and parliament material to ensure quality, relevance and appropriateness in accordance with relevant government guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain corporate policies and procedures around handling and storage of confidential materials to ensure adherence to the Governing Queensland suite of documents.
  • Promote an accountable, fair and safe work environment through management practices and policies, including performance management, equal opportunity/anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety.
