Manager, Case Management – Employee Relations

Location: Brisbane, QLD

Contract Type: Contract until June 2026

Salary: $86 per hour, plus super

About the Role

Are you an experienced employee relations professional ready to lead complex case management in a dynamic government environment? This is a unique opportunity to provide strategic and operational support across a broad range of people and performance matters, contributing to a fair, inclusive, and high-performing public sector workforce.

As Manager, Case Management, you'll play a key role in resolving complex employee relations issues, advising senior leaders, and driving continuous improvement in workplace practices. Be part of a collaborative team that values integrity, respect, and accountability.

About You

A confident communicator and strategic thinker with a strong background in employee relations. You bring sound judgement, a collaborative approach, and the ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and resolve complex employee relations cases including investigations, grievances, and performance matters
  • Provide expert advice on HR policies, award/agreement interpretation, and best practice employee relations
  • Develop proactive solutions for escalated conflict and dispute resolution
  • Draft and review high-level documentation including briefing notes, reports, and correspondence
  • Administer case management systems to ensure compliance and timely progression
  • Collaborate with legal, industrial relations, and external agencies to resolve complex issues
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and strategies
  • Promote positive workplace culture aligned with public sector values

Requirements

  • Criminal history check required prior to appointment
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in industrial relations, law, human resources or a related field (highly regarded)
  • Membership or certification with the Australian Human Resources Institute (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in complex case management within a government or large organisational context
