About the OpportunityThis fantastic new opportunity delivers an excellent blend of work, which spans across financial accounting, management accounting, bookkeeping and payroll functions. This is a key role where your flexibility will be highly valued, particularly around assisting other areas of the business when needed.
Responsibilities- Preparing and analysing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow) within required timeframes.
- Effectively managing compliance with government and statutory obligations, including ATO, GST, Workers' Compensation, Payroll Tax, and Superannuation, with effective communication to the business on any changes/updates.
- Reconciling accounts and ensuring accurate, up-to-date financial records.
- Supporting the development of the budgeting and forecasting processes, taking into careful consideration other key financial data.
- Assisting and implementing process and system improvements, whilst maintaining the business' ERP.
- Successfully monitoring cash flow, whilst delivering on forward-looking cash flow forecasts.
- Providing financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Liaising with external and other professional advisors, as required.
- Overseeing and providing accurate & timely payroll processing.
- Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a closely related discipline will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role across financial/management accounting, reporting, and payroll management ideally within manufacturing or retail.
- Demonstrated ability to apply strong technical accounting skills in both management and financial areas, with a strong eye for detail.
- Proven prior use in accounting software, ERP systems, and MS office suite, particularly MS Excel.
- Experience in the management and processing of payroll.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with a professional approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Excellent work ethic, with the ability to promote and build strong team morale, providing support to other functions when required.
