Fixed assets experience preferred but not necessary.
Job Description The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): Maintain and manage the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards (AASB, IFRS).
Prepare and reconcile fixed asset schedules to support financial reporting, including balance sheet and P&L impacts.
Contribute to month-end and year-end close processes by recording depreciation, asset movements, and related journal entries.
Assist with budget & forecast Perform asset impairment reviews and depreciation calculations in accordance with financial policies.
Collaborate with finance, procurement, and operational teams to track and validate asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers.
Monitor and report on capital expenditure (CAPEX), ensuring alignment with budget and project time lines.
Support internal and external audits by providing fixed asset and CAPEX documentation and financial analysis.
Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with corporate accounting policies related to asset and CAPEX management.
Provide insights and recommendations to improve fixed asset and CAPEX accounting processes and reporting accuracy.
The Successful Applicant A successful Financial Accountant (Fixed Assets) Accountant should have: Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CA/CPA qualified Proficiency in SAP with advanced excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
