Registry Coordinator - NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal — role with the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).
Location: Sydney CBD
Employment Type: Temporary Full-Time (12-month contract)
Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10 - $129,464 to $142,665 per annum plus employer superannuation contribution and annual leave loading.
Your roleNCAT deals with a broad and diverse range of matters, from tenancy issues and building works, to decisions on guardianship and administrative review of government decisions. The Guardianship Division makes decisions about people who have a decision‑making disability and may require a legally appointed substitute decision maker. The Registry Coordinator works closely with the Registrar and Deputy Registrar to ensure a range of quality services and support across four locations with seven teams to facilitate tribunal operations.
What You'll Do- Manage the day-to-day performance of the team including allocating and progressing work, providing direction and guidance, resolving issues, and ensuring decisions are considered and timely.
- Support effective working relationships with stakeholders including Tribunal Members, government agencies, community groups and tribunal users to identify needs and maximise the use of resources.
- Participate in review, reform or monitoring projects, identifying areas to improve processes and practice, and providing advice across the teams.
- Support staff through uncertainty and change in a high-volume, challenging and dynamic operating environment.
- Perform quasi-judicial functions in accordance with legislation.
- Energetic high performer who enjoys a busy, challenging role.
- Experience managing teams in a high-volume front-line customer service role.
- Ability to think, analyse and solve problems to develop practical solutions.
