For over 30 years, Orygen has led groundbreaking early intervention and developed evidence-based models of care to improve the mental health outcomes of young people aged 12-25.

About The Job

The Trial Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing an already commenced large-scale, national COHORT study examining the longitudinal course of depression and anxiety in young people. This role will be responsible for the careful management of project budget and timelines, project reporting along with nimbly identifying and addressing key project risks and issues.

Reporting to the Head, Mood and Anxiety Disorders Research you will:

• Lead clinical trial oversight including project planning, budget management, participant recruitment, safety monitoring, and protocol compliance.
• Manage research systems, databases (REDCap), ethics and governance submissions, safety reporting, and study administration.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive recruitment, engagement, and project outcomes.
• Coordinate and support the study team through training, supervision, meetings, communications, and collaboration with the Youth Advisory Group.
• Contribute to high-quality publications, promote Orygen's values, and provide general research support to the Head of Mood and Anxiety Disorders Research.

Skills and experience

The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

• Tertiary qualifications in psychology/health sciences related fields plus significant relevant experience or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
• Proven ability to manage and coordinate clinical trials or cohort studies, including work with vulnerable populations, recruitment and engagement strategies, risk management, and adherence to protocols.
• Strong experience in ethics and governance submissions, clinical trial documentation, auditing, project budgeting, and use of research systems (REDCap desirable).
• Highly developed organisational, time management, and multitasking skills with capacity to work independently, adapt to change, and deliver outcomes in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to fostering positive team and organisational culture.
• $95,000 - $105,000 pro rata commensurate with skills and experience + 12% superannuation and $15,900 in NFP salary packaging + $2,600 meals and entertainment card.

This is a part-time (3 days per week), 12-month contract.
