Overview

Role: Delivery Manager

Duration: Until 30 June 2026 + potential 12-month extension

Location of work: Canberra

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the value streams delivery plan, ensuring solutions are delivered to schedule, scope, budget, and quality
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies across delivery teams in collaboration with Release Train Engineer (RTE) and other Delivery Managers; remove blockers to meet objectives
  • Collaborate with Product Manager and Product Owner to refine scope and set priorities for the team
  • Manage resources assigned to the value stream; identify gaps and constraints; monitor and escalate requests for additional hours, leave and travel; manage and record pivot task requests
  • Lead Program Increment (PI) planning for your value stream and present with Product Owners to the broader program
  • Ensure milestones and transitions between delivery framework phases align with the solution roadmap; maintain DevOps hygiene and accuracy for the value stream
  • Collaborate with other Delivery Managers to identify improvements and best practices
  • Communicate and report delivery plan status, risks, and issues to peers, executives, and governance forums
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Director/Team Leader to ensure deliverables and milestones are met
About You
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in managing ICT projects to deliver to time, cost, quality, and scope
  • Ability to foster team culture and lead small teams, including providing clear direction and coaching to build high performance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and interpret technical information across diverse stakeholders
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strategic relationships
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of data exchanges, repositories and metadata models, including governance controls
  • Ability to work with business and data teams to derive actionable solutions from complex data
  • Ability to manage high volumes of work and competing priorities, and adapt to change
  • Ability to work with limited direction and collaborate within a team to achieve positive outcomes
  • Tertiary qualifications or industry recognised certification in Management, Project Management, or a similar field
  • Experience delivering large-scale ICT transformation programs/projects in an Australian Government setting
