Overview

Responsibilities
  • To provide quality Speech Pathology assessment and treatment to patients of the Far West Local Health District
  • Gain experience in hospital settings, including Broken Hill Hospital

About Far West LHD

The Far West Local Health District is one of 15 LHDs under NSW Health, providing high quality public health services to far west NSW communities. Our workforce is inclusive and diverse, employing clinicians and support staff across multiple facilities in Broken Hill and surrounding towns.

Selection Criteria / Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
  • Understanding and application of evidence-based practice and critical thinking for person/community-centred services
  • Ability to interact professionally and resolve conflicts
  • Ability to plan, advocate for and coordinate client care independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Understanding of primary health care practice and the interface between acute, sub-acute and community-based services
  • Commitment to professional development and applying/ sharing expertise with colleagues
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ability to use patient care software
  • Valid unrestricted driver's licence for NSW/Australia
