Overview

Product Application Engineer - Protection Systems role at Schneider Electric. Location: Brisbane or Melbourne, Australia. This is a specialist role focusing on protection relays and systems across Australia, partnering with customers, partners, and internal teams to deliver solutions.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Serve as the technical authority on Schneider Electric's protection relay portfolio across Australia
  • Partner with sales, presales, and channel teams to deliver best-in-class solutions to customers
  • Provide technical support, design consultation, and compliance guidance for pre-sales and tender opportunities
  • Lead technical training sessions, workshops, and product demonstrations for internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Interpret single-line diagrams, coordinate protection studies, and develop optimized relay settings
  • Support solution proposals with accurate, well-documented technical material
  • Stay current with local and international standards (IEC, ANSI, AS) and contribute to market strategy
  • Provide feedback to product development teams to ensure solutions meet local market needs
What We're Looking For
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years' experience in protection systems, ideally in the Australian market
  • Strong knowledge of IEC, ANSI, and Australian protection standards
  • Practical experience with Schneider Electric protection relays (or equivalent platforms)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and system design layouts
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience
  • Ability to align technical solutions with customer needs, support value-based selling and contribute to commercial success
  • Willingness to travel across Australia for client and site support
