About The Team

The Office of Quality and Standards at Murdoch University provides central services to ensure quality and compliance, develop educational policy, and manage curriculum and student integrity. Our team also maintains academic quality, compliance with policies and regulations, and enhances quality and compliance processes and data quality. Additionally, we lead strategic programs aligned with the University\'s vision, driving continuous improvement. Our collaborative Curriculum Quality and Management team supports the University's curriculum management and governance functions and maintains the University's curriculum management system.

Your New Role

Your curriculum management role involves ensuring curriculum change proposals are comprehensive, clearly documented, compliant with policy and procedure, and successfully navigated through the approvals process.

As a Curriculum Management Coordinator you'll work closely with academic staff to help turn their ideas for new or updated curriculum into reality, guiding them through the curriculum management process from initial concept to final approval. Your curriculum management role involves ensuring proposals for curriculum change are comprehensive, clearly documented, compliant with policy and quality standards, and successfully navigated through the approvals process.

You will need excellent attention to detail as well as a capacity to understand the bigger picture. You'll depend on your excellent communication skills and your ability to juggle multiple tasks, and you will work well independently and within teams.

Responsibilities
  • Support the planning, design and execution of curriculum projects, ensuring deadlines and milestones are identified and met.
  • Facilitate effective two-way communication between academic Schools and the Quality and Standards Office to coordinate and enable integration of curriculum management, reporting and review processes.
  • Deliver processes which support the curriculum management function, including advising on all aspects of curriculum portfolio planning, documenting curriculum for approval, and providing secretarial support to committees reviewing curriculum changes.
  • Use your knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and government requirements applying to curriculum to ensure that curriculum changes are compliant.

Please note: This role focuses on curriculum management rather than curriculum design. The position does not involve designing or developing curriculum content. Please refer to the Position Description for further details.

This Full Time (37.5 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of A$89K–A$107K (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

What you'll bring to the role
  • A tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience in the successful delivery of curriculum management tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and deliver high-quality service in a collaborative environment.
  • Understanding and experience of the quality and regulatory environment in Australian Higher Education and of systems and processed to assure quality and standards in learning and teaching
  • Knowledge of good practices, developments and trends in Higher Education learning and teaching (including international) and an ability to analyse both qualitative and quantitative evidence of learning and teaching quality.
  • Experience developing and preparing written documentation required for the establishment, maintenance and service of committees and governance processes.
