Our Team

Thales Australia provides comprehensive Air Traffic Services solutions, including the Civil/Military Air Traffic Management System (CMATS / OneSKY), enhancing safety, efficiency, and environmental outcomes in Australian airspace.

The Role

You will work within an international multidisciplinary team focusing on ergonomic/UX design and development of the Air Traffic Management system, primarily using FIGMA for mock-ups, in a co-engineering environment with operational users.

This position is based in Melbourne, Australia, with full visa and relocation support for suitable candidates outside Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in co-engineering within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Design system functions via mock-ups, including requirements, capability descriptions, functional behavior, and data exchanges
  • Consider transversal constraints such as Human Factors, Safety, Performance, Security
  • Build and maintain relationships with OPS and feature teams
  • Present mock-ups to teams and stakeholders
  • Support development processes
Qualifications
  • Degree in UX Engineering, ergonomics, or related field
  • Postgraduate studies in Systems Engineering (desirable)
Experience
  • At least 5+ years in UX Engineering
  • At least 5+ years ergonomic experience
  • Experience in Air Traffic Management areas such as Coordination, Surveillance, HMI, Safety Nets, etc.
  • Knowledge of Human Factors standards and practices
