About the Opportunity:
Our new state of the art Glass factory in Yatala represents the large investment we have ever made where we will recycle up to 200,000 tonnes of Queensland's glass annually to produce 1 billion bottles a year. With the latest in advanced machinery and control systems, we produce high-quality glass products efficiently and consistently. As we are located next to our box factory and beverage can plants, we will create a beverage container precinct to further support our customers and create a range of new career pathways for our staff.
What you will do:
As the Shift Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the glass production process during assigned shifts, including both Hot End and Cold End operations, within the glass manufacturing facility.
- Rotating shift:8-hour shift, with two consecutive weekends off every five weeks
- Full training provided to get proficient in Glass manufacturing process.
In this role you will:
- Monitor and manage production activities across all areas
- Conduct daily handovers and toolbox talks with the shift team to align priorities
- Drive continuous improvement while maintaining safety and quality
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for troubleshooting and repairs
- Work with batch and furnace teams to ensure stable and safe operations
- Lead, coach, and support shift team members to foster a high-performing environment
What you will bring to the team:
- Significant experience in manufacturing or production management role, ideally in heavy industry or a continuous process environment
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing rotating shift rosters.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing safety and quality standards.
- Experience with automated production machinery and systems.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including maintenance and batch/furnace operations.
