
Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager | Industrial Solutions — Seeking an experienced sales professional to grow the customer base and develop long-term partnerships across industrial, manufacturing, mining, and utilities sectors.
This role is with an established leader in the maintenance and repair of motors, pumps, gearboxes, transformers, and other rotating equipment. The team currently includes five sales staff, reporting to the Sales Manager and senior leaders who are nearing retirement in the next five years.
Location: Queensland, Australia (on-road, client-site based).
Base pay range: A$120,000.00/yr - A$130,000.00/yr
The Role- Manage and grow a portfolio of industrial customers across Queensland.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities across manufacturing, mining, utilities, and heavy industry.
- Visit customers on-site to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Work closely with internal technical teams to scope, quote, and deliver maintenance and repair services.
- Plan and undertake one longer regional trip every six weeks to visit key clients.
- Trade or technical background — ideally with hands-on experience in rotating equipment or electric motors.
- Proven success in business development or sales within industrial, engineering, or heavy equipment sectors.
- Strong relationship-building skills with a high-touch, solutions-focused approach.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, responding quickly to customer needs.
- Existing relationships in the industrial, manufacturing, or power generation sectors will be highly regarded.
- Willingness to spend most of the week on the road meeting clients.
- Motivated by growth targets and the opportunity to progress into leadership in the future.
