Overview

Senior Legal Specialist | Community Banking | Retail Banking — Bendigo Bank


Permanent, full-time position with flexible work options. Hybrid model with a minimum requirement of 60% on-site at a local Head Office. Open to all locations Australia-wide.



Responsibilities
  • Provide advice and guidance to ensure compliance with the Franchising Code of Conduct and other statutory and regulatory obligations aligned to the Community Bank model.
  • Ensure Bendigo Bank and its franchisees meet obligations under each franchise agreement and provide strategic governance, compliance, risk and regulatory guidance across the Franchise Model, including ACCC, ASIC, APRA and AFCA obligations, as well as asset sales and acquisitions.


What you\'ll bring to the role
  • Strong understanding of the Franchising Code of Conduct (or ability to quickly learn), Corporations Law and other statutory and regulator requirements under the Community Bank model.
  • Understanding of legislative impacts from a government perspective.
  • Demonstrated legal experience ideally within Banking, Finance, Franchising, regulatory or compliance industries.
  • Understanding of Banking, Finance and franchising governance frameworks and associated regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of company structures and local company frameworks.
  • Sound knowledge of general banking practices, advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation, leadership and influencing skills.
  • Qualified Lawyer with 7-10+ years PQE.
