Market-leading national civil contractor with blue-chip clients is seeking an experienced Project Director to deliver onshore wind civil and electrical packages, including access roads, footings and cabling. Typical project values are in the A$100m to A$200m+ range.

Location: Gippsland on site and Melbourne office. This is a great opportunity for career progression in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

Overview

The role focuses on delivering onshore wind projects with a civil bias. Experience delivering onshore wind is required; delivery of a major project will be the focus, with possible involvement in tendering and work-winning processes as well.

Responsibilities
  • Working on tenders
  • Planning and scheduling of construction activities
  • Management of site project teams
  • Quality assurance, cost and time management
  • Preparation of management reports
  • Resolving site issues in a timely manner
  • Liaising with key clients and stakeholders
  • Coordinating internal and external resources
  • Recruitment and mentoring of teams
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar
  • 7-20+ years' management experience with civil packages on onshore wind construction projects
  • Project management qualifications advantageous
  • Hands-on understanding of construction
  • Proven ability to lead and delegate
  • Effective problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to resolve conflict and manage client expectations
  • High level of organisation and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The role will deliver civil and electrical packages for onshore wind projects and may involve tendering and work-winning activities. You will be supported by an existing team and may grow that team as necessary. Projects will range in value from A$100m to A$200m+.
