Overview

Pastoral Care Worker – Morisset (Permanent Part Time, 14 hours/week). Commencing 2026. Location: St John Vianney Primary School, Morisset. Organisation: Bendigo Advertiser / Catholic Education context.

About the Role

Join a caring school community to support the wellbeing of children in a faith-based environment. The pastoral care worker will nurture a safe, supportive, and respectful school culture and work closely with staff, students, and families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide pastoral care services to students and support the wellbeing of the broader school community.
  • Collaborate with Principal, Parish Priest or representative, teaching staff, parents, Learning Support staff, school Counsellor, and the broader community.
  • Assist in promoting a caring and respectful school culture and respond to the personal needs of students as appropriate.
  • Monitor and report in accordance with CSO and NSCP requirements as applicable.
  • Support Catholic identity and mission of the school and align with school policies and guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Completion of anaphylaxis training.
  • Minimum NSCP qualification requirements (Certificate IV in Youth Work or Pastoral Care or equivalent).
  • Be a Catholic and willing to support and follow the Catholic Identity and mission of the school.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to engage with students, families, staff, and the local Parish context.
Conditions of Employment
  • Salary in accordance with Educational Services (Schools) General Staff Award 2020.
  • Permanent Part Time (14 hours/week).
