Job Description for Oracle DBA for Sydney Location.

The position requires:

  1. Design & build Oracle Databases
  2. Oracle standalone
  3. Oracle RAC
  4. Oracle ADG
  5. Golden Gate is added advantage
  6. Design & build MySQL / PostgreSQL Databases
  7. Standalone
  8. Master Slave configuration / DR setup
  9. Design & build Microsoft SQL Databases
  10. Standalone
  11. AlwaysOn
  12. Replication or Logshipping
  13. Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Centre knowledge
  14. Develop and maintain system documentation related to the database configuration
  15. Perform Patch & release management
  16. Perform performance trend analysis and manage the server/network capacity
  17. React to potential problems using automation, scheduling, and monitoring tools -- escalating to management where appropriate
  18. Participate in configuration and implement technical solutions to enhance and/or troubleshoot the system
  19. Knowledge of following Operating System environments:
    1. Redhat/Oracle Linux
    2. IBM AIX
    3. Oracle Solaris
    4. Windows Servers

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

The position requires:

  1. Proven ability to deliver results as required within specific time frames.
  2. Ability to work within a team in a cross cultural environment.
  3. Ability to work after hours.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The position requires:

  1. 5 - 7 years of experience as Database Admin on Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL.
  2. Formal IT related qualifications.
