Role: Oracle Database Administrator

Location: Sydney, NSW

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator with extensive experience in Oracle Database Administration and proficiency in Xtreme Components Configuration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in configuring Oracle XStream CDC Source connectors for the Confluent Platform, as well as a solid understanding of Apache Kafka. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage complex database environments and ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain Oracle databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Configure and optimise Xtreme Components for effective database management.
• Implement and manage Oracle XStream CDC Source connectors for the Confluent Platform.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet business needs.
• Document database configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.
• Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices.

Mandatory Skills:

• Proficiency in Xtreme Components Configuration.
• Experience in Oracle XStream CDC Source connector for Confluent Platform Configuration.
• Strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration.

Preferred Skills:

• Good knowledge of Kafka and its integration with database systems.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud database solutions and services.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10 15 years of experience in database administration, with a focus on Oracle databases.
• Relevant certifications in Oracle Database Administration or related technologies are a plus.
