THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, your primary focus will be to drive, develop and deliver market leading and innovative software solutions. As Stratco's Software Development Manager, you won't just manage timelines — you'll own the roadmap, drive innovation, and inspire a team of developers to build applications that matter. This is a unique opportunity to enable competitive advantage through technology that benefits our customers, business partners and the Stratco supply chain.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Driving best practices in software engineering while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver impactful, scalable, and secure applications. Broader responsibilities will encompass:
- Define and maintain the technology vision and associated roadmap for all in-scope systems with a focus on our customer facing design and quoting platform
- Coach, guide and educate software developers in software engineering best practices
- Serve as a member of the IT Leadership team and collaborate with other members to ensure the successful delivery of all IT services across the organisation
- Drive and manage a software engineering operating model and associated practices that deliver frequent improvements through rapid iterations
- Ensure projects are well planned, suitably structured with appropriate governance across scope, schedule, budget, resources and risks
ABOUT YOU
For this key position, we're seeking a passionate and highly motivated Software Development Manager, a true front-line leader who leads by example and one that brings:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent)
• Proven experience leading application software development and support teams
• Experience in .NET development across web and desktop applications
• Well-developed people leadership and management experience
• Extensive experience developing and supporting enterprise software applications
• Project management experience with at least one qualification in a delivery methodology
• Experience with application integration technologies and methods
• Experience coaching and educating developers in software engineering practices
• Skilled in analysing business opportunities and designing technology solutions
