We've got a unique opportunity for a full-time Support Officer to join our Defence Assistance Program (DAP) — right here in Holsworthy, NSW

Through this rewarding role, you'll be helping people with disability feel confident and supported in their jobs – and in this case, those jobs are within Defence bases, supporting the amazing work our Defence personnel do behind the scenes.

A bit about the role

As a Support Officer in our DAP team, you'll:

  • Support and guide a small group of employees with disability in their day-to-day work
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and encouragement to help build skills and confidence
  • Help your team settle into the workplace, understand tasks, and feel part of the Defence community
  • Keep simple progress notes and support plans up to date
  • Work closely with Defence staff to make sure work is getting done safely, on time, and to a high standard
  • Schedule tasks and help manage workloads
  • Attend training, team meetings, and follow workplace safety and support procedures
What we're looking for
  • Someone with a calm, positive attitude who loves helping others
  • Experience working with people with disability is an advantage; we would love someone with the drive, passion and the want to make a difference
  • A great communicator who can explain tasks clearly and handle different situations
  • Confident using computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Able to work well with others and build good relationships with both your team and the Defence crew
  • An Australian Citizen (required to apply for Baseline Security Clearance)
