Our client is an active investment company which invests in small to medium size businesses with a sustainable competitive advantage and strong growth prospects, providing them with specialist business management skills and equity capital to leverage these growth opportunities.

With a flexible mandate to invest in private and public companies across any part of the capital structure and for any timeframe they will consider venture capital through to mature businesses for investment.

Role overview

The firm seeks a driven individual with experience within Investment Banking, Corporate Finance or Private Equity, who can add value and be a key member of the founding team, investing activities, skewed towards private equity but including listed, venture capital and fixed income.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to build upon their experience in highly rewarding environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct market analysis and industry research to support investment assessment and origination
  • Leading the preparation of due diligence materials and investment committee memos
  • Extensive financial modeling including sensitivity analysis to support potential investment opportunities
  • Develop and help implement strategies for portfolio companies to increase revenue, improve operations, strengthen financial controls, and increase shareholder value.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the firm to gather information necessary to make investment decisions within the various strategies.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of assets with the firm's portfolios including review of monthly operating results and maintaining project performance.
  • Engage and manage third party consultants and advisors on new investment opportunities
  • Establish and maintain relationship with industry and professional organizations to enhance visibility of the firm and its portfolio companies.

Requirements
  • 1-5years experience within Investment Banking, Corporate Finance or Private Equity.
  • Excellent academic credentials and achievements
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including substantial experience in financial modelling and valuation.
  • Results orientated individual, with a proactive and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Strong judgment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to articulate and present points of view and ideas effectively.
  • Proven ability to successfully multi-task with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
