Overview

Independent Trainee – Anaesthetics (Full time) – 206 6Clinical Year at Northern Beaches Hospital, Healthscope. Northern Beaches Hospital provides world-class, Level 5 delineation services for both public and private patients, with 486 beds, a 50-bed Emergency Department, 20-bed ICU, 14 theatres (including hybrid theatres), two cardiac catheter labs, four procedure rooms, and a state-of-the-art education and interactive SIM centre. The hospital is located 10 minutes from the Northern Beaches social precinct and 20 minutes from Sydney CBD.

Your Role

The Anaesthetics - Unaccredited Trainee will assist in the provision of anaesthetic services in the Interventional Suite, Labour ward and Radiology Department. You will participate in Preadmission Clinics, Acute Pain Service and Clinical Emergency Response Service (CERs). You will be supervised by senior medical staff to ensure responsibilities are commensurate with your clinical experience and in accordance with ANZCA guidelines.

Your Capabilities

To be successful in this role you will meet the following Selection Criteria:

  • Hold a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and be registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated clinical practice as a registered medical practitioner for a minimum of two years with progress towards career goals in Anaesthetics or Critical Care
  • Demonstrated a minimum of one year experience in Anaesthetics
  • Demonstrated clinical competency and the ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment, utilizing excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management, and sound working knowledge of legal and ethical obligations governing medical practice
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and problem-solving skills in a multidisciplinary clinical setting

Salary ranges from $111,606 to $140,051 per annum, dependent on clinical experience.
