Independant Trainee – Anaesthetics (Full time Clinical Year

Northern Beaches Hospital offers world-class Level 5 delineation services for both public and private patients. The hospital features 486 beds, a 50-bed Emergency Department, a 20-bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, 14 fully equipped theatres including hybrid theatres, two cardiac catheter labs, four procedure rooms, and a state-of-the-art education and interactive SIM centre. Your Role

The Anaesthetics - Unaccredited Trainee will assist in providing anaesthetic services in the Interventional Suite, Labour Ward, and Radiology Department. You will participate in Preadmission Clinics, the Acute Pain Service, and the Clinical Emergency Response Service (CERs). You will be supervised by senior medical staff to ensure your responsibilities match your clinical experience and adhere to ANZCA guidelines.

Your Capabilities

To succeed in this role, you will meet the following selection criteria:

  • Hold a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and be registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrate clinical practice as a registered medical practitioner for at least two years, with progress towards career goals in Anaesthetics or Critical Care
  • Have at least one year of experience in Anaesthetics
  • Show clinical competency and the ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment, utilizing excellent clinical skills, judgment, and expertise
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, risk management, and a sound understanding of legal and ethical obligations in medical practice
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with effective time management and problem-solving abilities in a multidisciplinary team setting
