Overview

Located in East Melbourne, our client is seeking an experienced candidate to support the Child Safety Program Manager in the implementation of child safety policies. The role will partner across the organisation to provide expert risk management advice, guidance and reassurance on the application of child safety legislation and regulation. You will also be responsible for systems, processes and measures that will support ongoing risk management. The role requires you to build strong partnerships and relationships across the organisation, sector partners and external stakeholders. You will assess current Child Safety Risk Assessments and work with subject matter experts in child safety, youth programs, service delivery, operations, health, safety and wellbeing to inform and review Child Safe Risk Assessments. You will also conduct Child Safety Risk Assessments on site with relevant stakeholders at location to assess harm, the risk of harm and make recommendations on control measures and strategies to eliminate or minimise the risks. This includes building educational materials to support the implementation of child safety risk assessments to the organisation's programs and service delivery functions.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and conduct Child Safety Risk Assessments on site with relevant stakeholders to evaluate harm, the risk of harm and recommend control measures and strategies to minimise risks.
  • Review and inform Child Safe Risk Assessments in collaboration with subject matter experts across child safety, youth programs, service delivery, operations, health, safety and wellbeing.
  • Develop educational materials to support the implementation of child safety risk assessments within the organisation's programs and service delivery functions.
  • Partner across the organisation, sector partners and external stakeholders to ensure effective risk management and compliance with child safety legislation and regulation.
Qualifications
  • Experience developing, implementing and evaluating Child Safety Risk Assessments.
  • Extensive experience leading the development and establishment of risk assessments involving vulnerable children and young people.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
  • Knowledge of risk systems and proven success in end-to-end risk management with experience in assurance processes.
  • Qualifications in Compliance and Risk, Quality Management or related field are preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience using Protecht is highly desirable.
  • Valid Working with Children Check is required.
  • Travel across the state is required and a driver's licence is mandatory.

Casual Loading

Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
