What I'll be doing:

As a Counsellor, I will be supporting the Sexuality and Relationships service, which includes providing counselling, education, and assisting in event facilitation. I will work in a person-centred way, respecting the sensitivities surrounding these topics and fostering an environment where individuals feel safe, heard, and supported.

As part of this role, I will:

  • Support the Sexuality and Relationships service through direct counselling and educational sessions.
  • Adopt a person-centred approach while understanding and respecting the sensitivities surrounding sexuality and relationships.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality, always respecting the individual differences and needs of the customers.
  • Create and sustain a safe, secure, and trusting environment for all stakeholders involved.

I'm passionate about providing meaningful support, have a growth mindset, and am committed to delivering person-centred care. My years of expertise in the disability or health sector will empower individuals, foster connections, and create lasting, positive change in their lives.

I will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications, with a minimum Diploma in Counselling.
  • Membership with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or as an accredited PACFA Registrant with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience and clinical skills in counselling, including the application of therapeutic modalities relevant to working with individuals and groups.
  • A solid understanding of legislative, ethical, and practice requirements, including confidentiality, anti-discrimination, and mandatory reporting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of NDIS policies and procedures.
