About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists within our Central Maintenance Team at Portland Aluminium for a Mechanical Work Delivery Coordinator. The Work Delivery Coordinator is a member of a maintenance team who coordinates the performance of all aspects of maintenance work in a defined geographical area or functional/technical group. In addition to the base maintenance trade's role, they will co-ordinate and support site wide delivery of corrective and planned maintenance activities allocated or actively sought through the eAM system, in conjunction with the maintenance supervision team. The work delivery coordinator may be required to directly coordinate multiple work packages being delivered across site. Work Delivery Coordinators are critical to ensuring that nominated work is safely handed over, executed and handed back to service to the quality required. This role is also key to ensuring that work is undertaken with minimum delays to maximise the productivity or our work parties. The work parties remain responsible for the safe execution of the work to the specified standards and scope.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate performance of all aspects of maintenance work in a defined area or group.
  • Co-ordinate and support site-wide delivery of corrective and planned maintenance activities via the eAM system, in conjunction with the maintenance supervision team.
  • Directly coordinate multiple work packages across the site as required.
  • Ensure safe handover, execution and handback of nominated work to the service at the required quality and standards.
  • Minimise delays to maximise productivity of work parties while safeguarding safety and scope.

What you can bring to the role
  • Mechanical - Fitter (Australian Apprenticeship, Tradesperson's Rights Certificate or equivalent).
  • Advanced skills to isolate, diagnose, analyse and rectify complex equipment-related problems.
  • Experience in PLC systems and motor control would be beneficial.
  • Problem-solving is essential, with good communication and interpersonal skills to provide technical direction.
  • High initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing / industrial or continuous production environment is advantageous.
  • Commitment to environment, health and safety and willingness to participate in safety improvement initiatives.

Our Portland Smelter is a joint venture between Alcoa of Australia (55%), CITIC (22.5%) and Marubeni Aluminium Australia (22.5%). Alcoa manages the day-to-day operations at the smelter and we produce approximately 19 per cent of Australia's total aluminium production in Portland.
