Overview

Disability Support Worker (Victoria) – Christmas Casual Positions. Locations: Katoomba, Blackheath and Wentworth Falls.

Casual hours are available with potential to secure ongoing PPT hours and opportunities to increase income through extra hours, overnight shifts and weekend work. A rewarding career with the ability to give back to our community in a growing service sector.

What you will do

DSWs support people in their day-to-day living, providing quality 24/7 care in supported independent living (SIL/Group Homes) to ensure a safe and nurturing environment. You will provide direct support across a range of needs, including domestic and personal care, and assist customers to access and engage with the community.

About You
  • Ability and willingness to work shift work, regular sleepovers/active nights, weekends and public holidays with significant availability
  • Resilience, confidence and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships
  • Ability to obtain the NDIS Workers Screening Check prior to commencement
  • Ability to use computers and learn a variety of software/programs
  • Smartphone and current Australian Driver's Licence

What to expect

Significant availability during the Christmas period is a must, including days, nights, weekends and public holidays. Typical shifts include four days per week between 2pm and 10am. Generous penalties apply.
