At Raise, we exist to help young people. We do one thing, and we do it really well—youth mentoring.

Our best-practice, early intervention mentoring program is proven to create lasting impact. By matching trained and trusted volunteer mentors with teenagers who need extra support, we help young people feel heard, valued, and hopeful for the future.

Operating in over 180 high schools across Australia, we provide life-changing mentoring to more than 2,000 young people every year.

About the Role:

We're looking for a community program manager to be the champion for Raise who will grow our presence within the region alongside providing professional support to mentees and mentors in the Raise mentoring program to create positive experience and successful outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:


• Raise awareness of Raise Foundation via community engagement


• Support and grow local funding partnerships


• Volunteer Mentor Recruitment, Screening and Training


• Program Delivery and Facilitation


• Mentor Support and Volunteer Retention

About you:

  • You are a highly engaging community champion with a passion for purpose-driven work. You bring:
  • Relevant Degree qualifications in counselling, youth work, social work, psychology or Diploma qualifications in these fields with at least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Certification IV in training and prior facilitation experience
  • An outstanding ability to engage and motivate mentees, mentors, school staff and other stakeholders to facilitate successful outcomes of the program
  • An interest and experience in speaking at public events and community group meetings
  • An interest in identifying funding opportunities within the community
  • Experience with supporting, counselling and engaging young people
  • Experience managing groups and conducting professional group supervision
  • Comprehensive understanding of Mandatory Reporting requirements for working with young people
  • Minimum 25 years of age in line with professional experience requirements
  • A willingness to undergo the Raise selection process including appropriate youth safety and national crime checks
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship skills
  • Excellent administration skills and organisational ability
  • Excellent IT skills including Office365 and cloud-based document sharing
  • Ability to meet minimum requirements for contact with Raise staff team and key stakeholders
